Loveland: a city that hauls its own
Loveland runs its own trash, recycling and yard waste collection, so the first call about a bulky item there goes to the City, not to a private company.
Special pickups and the cleanup voucher
Loveland’s trash and recycling page, retrieved September 27, 2026, offers a special curbside pickup for oversized items, Monday through Friday with 24 hours’ notice, priced by size and volume and billed to the City utility bill. Residents who pay the monthly Solid Waste Programs fee also get a yearly Household Cleanup voucher for dropping bulky items at the Recycling Center, up to a standard pickup load of 2.7 cubic yards. The voucher does not cover computers, televisions, tires, mattresses or paint.
The Recycling Center
The Loveland Recycling Center at 400 N. Wilson Ave. is open Tuesday to Sunday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and closed Mondays. It charges $25 for anything containing refrigerant, $29 for each mattress or box spring, and $10 for an unsecured load. From October 1, 2026 it no longer accepts $100 bills.
The county option
Larimer County names Loveland alongside Fort Collins as a city whose residents should use the Central Diversion & Transfer Station on West Trilby Road, the gate that replaced the old landfill for public loads this August.
