A junk removal price has two parts: what the gate charges and what the labor and the truck cost. The first is public and published. The second is private, and this page keeps the two apart.
Public fees at the county gate
These come from Larimer County’s 2026 fee schedule, retrieved September 27, 2026. They apply to anyone who drives a load in, including a hauler you hire, and they are the floor under any private quote, not the quote itself.

Private planning ranges
No official source publishes a price for having a load carried out of a Fort Collins home, so the table below is a budgeting aid. The ranges were not collected from local companies and are not an offer from anyone. Truck sizes differ, and so does what one company calls a full load.

What moves a quote
- The carry. Stairs, long hallways, tight turns and a truck parked far from the door all add time.
- Weight. Tile, concrete, wet carpet and old appliances fill less space than they weigh.
- Items with their own fee. Mattresses, Freon appliances, tires and electronics carry separate charges at the gate or the recycler.
- Taking things apart. Hot tubs, sectionals, play sets and built-in shelving need tools and time.
- Permits. A dumpster or pod in the street needs City approval first.
Ways to spend less
Use Republic’s two free bulk items on the small pieces, donate what still works, and drop electronics at Timberline yourself if you can lift them. Paint and chemicals go free to the county’s household hazardous waste drop-off. What is left for a hauler is then a smaller, simpler load, and an honest quote for it is easier to get.
