Severance: a voucher year
Severance ran its clean-up differently this year, trading a town event for landfill vouchers. With those gone, a bulky load there is back to the ordinary options.
Who hauls the trash
The town’s trash and recycling page says independent companies provide the service, and suggests checking with your HOA or metro district before hiring anyone, because some subdivisions include trash in the dues. The town describes its location as about 10 miles east of Fort Collins and 7 miles north of Windsor.
The 2026 voucher
With its Community Park closed for renovation, Severance replaced its clean-up with a Weld County Landfill voucher program. Each household on annexed property could claim one voucher worth up to $125 for a single vehicle load at the landfill, 40000 Weld County Road 25 in Ault, between May 1 and July 31. The town reported running out of vouchers, and lost ones were not replaced.
After the voucher
With the window closed, a load goes at full price. Ask any hauler which facility they plan to use and what it charges, since Weld and Larimer counties each set their own fees. Both town pages were checked September 27, 2026.
