South Fort Collins, where both drop-offs are
If you live near Harmony, Trilby or Timberline, the two places a Fort Collins load usually ends up are a short drive away. That can make a self-haul worth doing.
Two gates on the south side
Larimer County’s Central Diversion & Transfer Station is entered at 2388 W. Trilby Road and opened on August 3, 2026. The City’s Timberline Recycling Center sits at 1903 S. Timberline Rd., with a free everyday recycling yard open seven days a week and a fee-based yard for hard-to-recycle items open Tuesday through Saturday. Both were checked September 27, 2026.
One loop can cover both: electronics and scrap metal to Timberline first, then furniture and household junk to Trilby, covered and strapped both ways.
HOA neighborhoods
The City’s curbside page explains that HOAs with trash contracts signed by April 28, 2023 could apply for an exemption from the City program, and that HOAs, mobile home parks and metro districts with group accounts can stay in it on a small or medium cart plan. Your HOA can tell you which applies, and whether its covenants say where a dumpster may sit.

Where is the new Larimer County transfer station?
Its entrance is at 2388 W. Trilby Road in Fort Collins. The county opened it on August 3, 2026, with hours of Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Is my HOA part of the City trash program?
It depends. HOAs with trash contracts signed by April 28, 2023 could apply for an exemption, so ask your HOA whether it has one.
