TV and electronics removal in Fort Collins, the legal way
Old televisions, monitors and computers cannot ride out with the rest of the junk in Colorado. They go to recyclers, and in Fort Collins the price depends on the kind of screen.
Colorado keeps electronics out of landfills
Larimer County’s electronics recycling page says that, per state statute, electronic devices must be recycled and cannot be discarded in Colorado landfills. The City’s Timberline page says the same about TVs, computers and cell phones in the trash.

At the Hard-to-Recycle Materials Yard, electronics fees are added to the $5 entry fee. Retrieved September 27, 2026, the list includes:

The yard is open Tuesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from April to October and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. from November to March. Sony Trinitron sets cost more because of how they were built.
Wipe it before it leaves
Sign out of accounts, factory-reset phones and tablets, and pull or wipe the drives in old computers. A hauler carrying electronics should say which recycler gets them; the county page lists several local options, including its own electronics recycling at the Taft Hill Road site.
