What the City requires
The City’s code compliance page lists construction and demolition debris among materials that must be recycled, naming aggregates and concrete, metal, untreated wood and cardboard. Its hauler license rule also covers construction and demolition roll-offs, so the company bringing a dumpster needs a City license as well.
Where the pieces can go
Timberline’s aggregates area takes concrete without rebar, brick, rock, tile, and porcelain toilets and sinks stripped of hardware, up to 10 cubic yards, for the $5 entry. Untreated, unpainted lumber costs $11 a cubic yard there. The county’s fee schedule lists drywall at $13.25, shingles at $36 and clean concrete at $20 per cubic yard, and the Central transfer station does not accept non-friable asbestos, mixed concrete and asphalt, or dirt.
A dumpster in the street
A roll-off or pod parked in the City right-of-way needs an encroachment permit before it arrives. Setting it on a driveway avoids that step; ask about the weight on older concrete and the clearance under trees and wires.
If old flooring, siding or a textured ceiling is coming out, have it tested for asbestos before tear-out begins. The transfer station will not take it, and a hauler cannot plan around a material nobody has identified.
